To graduate with honors recognition from
the Fran Coulter Honors Program, a student must have successfully completed at least fifteen (15) hours of honors courses
including the two honors forums: A History of Great Ideas (HON 1203) and In Search of Solutions (HON 2203). Nine hours may
be selected from general education courses marked with an honors component that will be designated with an H next to the regular
course number.
To remain in good standing in the program,
a student must maintain a 3.25 overall GPA. If the overall GPA falls below 3.25, the student will be placed on probation from
the Fran Coulter Honors Program for one semester. If the overall GPA is not brought back up to 3.25 at the end of the semester,
the student will be dismissed from the program and will not be eligible to graduate with honors recognition. If the overall
GPA is below a 3.50 in the student’s graduating semester, the honors committee will make the final recommendation as
to whether or not the student receives honors distinction at graduation.
Additionally, each student must earn a
minimum of a B on any course with an honors component. Earning less than a B on any honors component course will result in the student being placed on probation from the program for one
semester.
